Local governments are required to report information on a timely and efficient basis to ensure the financial information is relevant for making decisions that benefit the municipality and taxpayer.  This is attained through preparing and analyzing monthly budget to actual reports.  

 Primary bookkeeping services include: 

• Recording and reconciling transactions
• Deposits, disbursements, and budget transfers
• Bank reconciliations and monthly budget to actual report preparation

Other bookkeeping services include:

• NYSLRS reporting
• Compliance reporting
• Tax cap calculation 
• Annual Financial Report (AFR) preparation. 

There are three levels of attestation engagements offered:

Agreed-upon Procedures

•  Agreed-upon procedures engagement is a type of engagement which auditor performs certain procedures that are agreed upon in advance.

Compilations

•  Presentation of financial statements based on representations made by management with no effort to verify information. 

Reviews

•  Application of analytical procedures and inquiring of management to ascertain whether information contained in the financial statements is correct. 

 Consulting services include, but are not limited to: 

• Compliance matters
• Internal controls
• Training personnel (treasurers, department heads, and board members)
• Software selection, implementation, and use
• General, water, and sewer fund consulting for capital projects; including funding of projects, when to borrow, use of reserves, with emphasis on what truly benefits the government and taxpayer.
